Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats. This week, there were 170 total incidents in the blotter:

Oct. 30:

Domestic Violence IP: Officers answered a call to an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino for a domestic in progress. Upon result of the investigation two cousins were arrested for domestic battery.

Suspicious person: An Officer responded to Pear Tree Ln.  for a report of a suspicious male going door to door. The male was located and found to be a political canvasser. The male was informed of the local solicitation laws.

Wanted person: A female was arrested for an active warrant. She was transported to the detention center and booked on the warrant.

Noise Disturbance: Officers responded to a Riverside Rd. residence reference a noise complaint. Following an investigation Officers issued a citation for breach of peace.

Oct. 31:

Driving Under the influence:  Officer observed a vehicle conducting numerous traffic violations. After an investigation, the driver was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle: Officer responded to a W. Mesquite Blvd. casino regarding a recovered stolen vehicle. Officer determined the vehicle was in fact stolen out of Arizona.  The vehicle was impounded and a report was taken.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officers responded to a theft at a N. Sandhill Blvd. business.

Theft: Officers conducted an investigation that resulted in the arrest of two adult female for theft.

Found Property: Officer was contacted by a local restaurant manager who had located a purse which had been left at his business.  Officer took custody of the purse and contacted to owner.

Abuse/Neglect: Officers responded to a report of two children left in a vehicle.  A female adult was located in a business, which was the guardian, and was placed in custody for an active warrant.

Wanted person: A female was located and arrested for an active arrest warrant. Female was transported to the detention center and booked on the warrant.

Wanted person: A female was located and arrested for and active arrest warrant on Dutchess Ln. Female was transported to the detention center and booked on the warrant.

Nov. 1:

Traffic accident W/O injury: An Officer responded to 550 West Pioneer Blvd for a reported accident, where a vehicle came in contact with the building. There was minor damage to both vehicle and building, with no reported injuries. Accident report completed.

Lost Property: Officers responded to the police station about lost property

Lost Property: Officers responded to the police station on a report of lost property.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officer was stopped by a motorist who turned in a purse that fell out of a vehicle entering the highway.  Officer attempted to contact the owner.

Nov 2:

Theft from Vehicle: A report was taken for theft from a vehicle. A citizen left their vehicle unsecured and property was taken.

Theft from Vehicle: A citizen reported someone entered her garage on First South St. and took the purse inside of the vehicle.

Civil Matter: Police took a report for a missing vehicle. The incident is under further investigation.

Burglary: Mesquite Detectives received a report from a neighboring law enforcement agency of forgery and burglary that occurred in Mesquite, but was reported in another jurisdiction. The investigation is ongoing.

Nov. 3:

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: A citizen reported damage to his vehicle last week. A report was created.

Lost Property: A visiting citizen reported losing her wallet, money and identification. A report was taken.

Hit & Run: An officer took a report of a hit and run crash. There were no reported injuries and the offender was not located.

Theft: Officer received a report of retail theft from a W. Pioneer Blvd. store. A written statement was gathered and the investigation is ongoing.

Fighting: Officers responded to a W. First South  St. apartment complex for a report of a fight that had occurred prior to their arrival. After interviewing all parties involved, no charges were brought. The parties agreed to remain separated.

Welfare Check: Officer spoke with a complainant requesting a welfare check.

 

Nov.4:

Controlled Substance Problem: An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a moving violation. The adult female driver was in possession of marijuana and was issued a citation

Lost Property: Police took a report for a lost passport.

Found Property:  A bicycle was found on W. Hafen Ln. and placed into bike safekeeping.

Theft: Officers responded to a W. Mesquite Blvd. business on a report of recovered stolen property. The offender left the area and failed to return the property. He was later located and found still in possession of the property. He was arrested on felony charge of theft.

Nov. 5:

Minor Possessing/Consuming: An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation. An open container of alcohol was located and the passenger was issued a citation.

Intoxicated Person: An officer observed an intoxicated male jaywalking in the roadway. The male was issued a citation for intoxicated pedestrian in the roadway.

Theft from Vehicle: A report was taken for property taken from an unsecured vehicle.

Theft: Officer was dispatched to a Larkspur Ln. address in reference to a theft.

DUI: Officers responded to a Mesquite roadway on a report of a drunk driver. The vehicle and driver were located and subsequently arrested for driving while intoxicated.
