Robert Carl Krause, born October 12, 1928 in Appleton, Minnesota died on Friday, September 23, 2016 at Dixie Regional Medical Center at the age of 87.
Bob grew up on a farm in South Dakota, graduating from Revillo High School in 1946. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was a distinguished expert in marksmanship at Camp Perry, Ohio, representing the State of Utah. He worked as an air traffic controller and had a long career as a US Customs Agent in Southern Arizona where he was responsible for identifying several drug smuggling operations.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Garhart Krause and Margaret Trager Krause as well as two sons, Larry Krause and Robert Krause Jr. and his first wife, Verda Orton Krause. He is survived by his sister, Karen Lahammer of St. Louis Park, Minnesota; seven children, Martha Eiffler of Mesquite, Nevada; David Krause of Whetstone, Arizona, Jill Fisher of Clinton, Utah; Kevin Krause of West Point, Utah; Annette Todd of Jurupa Valley, California; Walter Krause of Mesquite, Nevada; and Marisa Saxton of Tucson, Arizona as well as his ex-wife, Josie Krause of Tucson, Arizona. He leaves behind 24 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and one great, great granddaughter.
He enjoyed the simple things in life, hunting, motorcycling, spending time with his children and being outdoors. He was voracious reader, enjoyed history and once had a pilot’s license and enjoyed flying Cessnas. He was dearly loved and will be missed by many.
