Tuesday evening’s NFL Punt, Pass and Kick sponsored by the city of Mesquite’s Department of Athletics and Leisure Services was a huge success. A large group of kids, with parents waiting for the action, competed in the event. Children from 6 to 15 got the opportunity to show their skills in three categories of football prowess. VVHS’s freshman football team helped Recreation Director Nick Montoya and his staff measure and track each youngsters progress. The event was held at Hunters Park. The winners advance to Sectionals in Mesquite on Oct. 15 and will eventually compete at the new San Francisco 49ers Levi Stadium in California if they continue to be successful.
