In one of the better matches played at Virgin Valley High School, the Lions from small school Calvary Chapel took the host Bulldogs to the brink before losing in five sets. The Bulldogs won the first set 25-23, lost the second 25-17, won the third 25-15, lost the fourth 25-20 before finishing the Lions off 15-11 in the last match.

The first match of the day showed off the strength of the teams as they battled back and forth all game. The Lions came out and held the lead until Bernice Fiso and Emma Barnum put up six kills out of the next Bulldogs 10 points. The Dawgs led 23-20 before the Lions rallied to trail 23-22. The Dawgs managed a 25-23 win due to the strength of their front line. Fiso and Barnum had four kills each in the win.

The roar in the Dawg House was deafening the rest of the night as the teams see-sawed back and forth. The Bulldogs and Lions played like the champions they could be at the end of their respective seasons. Leading the way for the Lady Bulldogs were Fiso with 18 kills, 16 digs followed by Barnum with 15 kills and 17 digs. Setter Calee Clem had 32 assists. The Bulldogs put up 10 aces and 9 blocks for the match.

The Bulldogs travel to Liberty High School on the Sept.6 before hosting Pahranagat Valley on Sept.8. The Bulldogs record now stands at 6-4 for the season.
