Police Blotter July 24-30, 2016
Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats. This week, there were 164 total incidents in the blotter:

July 24:

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officer responded to a Cottonwood Dr. residence regarding a hit and run. The vehicle was hit sometime during the night by what appeared to be a bicycle.
July 25:

Attempt to Locate: Officers attempted to locate a missing female upon request from Wellington Police Department. Officers were unable to locate the female within the Mesquite City Limits. Officers will continue to search while in service.
Civil Matter: Officer responded to the police department regarding a report of fraud. Officer spoke to the victim and obtained all information available.
Sexual Assault: Officers responded to a citizen assist where a woman later said she was assaulted.
Fraud: An officer took a report concerning fraud, involving money taken by a property management company. Information was received and a report completed.
Theft: An officer responded to Walmart for a report of a theft from the store. The involved party was located and arrest for Petit Larceny.
Fraud: An officer responded to a report of a fraud.
Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officer spoke with a citizen by telephone regarding concerns about a neighbor on Second South St. Officer spoke with the resident and advised to contact police if she has any further concerns.
Verbal Dispute IP: Officer responded to a verbal dispute in progress at a residence on Pinyon Ln. All parties had calmed down and agreed to separate for the day.
Driving Under the influence: Officer made contact with an adult female who had been in a single vehicle accident on Rodeo Ln. and Second South St. The female was arrested for DUI and traffic offense related to the accident.
Property Damage, Non Vandalism: An officer took a report of property damage to a vehicle on Francy Ln. There are no witnesses to the incident.

July 26:

Civil Matter: An Officer spoke with a female subject who filed a report of fraud, concerning the loss of her security deposit on the home she is renting.
Graffiti: Officer responded to the area of Mesquite Boulevard and Grapevine Road on a report of graffiti.  Officer obtained photographs and a report was generated.
Suicidal Person: Officer spoke with a citizen regarding a possible suicidal subject. Officer received very little information on the subject.  Officer will attempt to locate the individual.

July 27:

Trespassing IP: Officers responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino for a report of a male who was previously trespassed. Casino representatives signed a complaint against the individual.
Theft: Officers responded on a shoplifting incident at Walmart. The offenders were stopped and cited for petit larceny.
Recovered Stolen Vehicle: An officer responded to a citizen on Sea Pines St. who had located their stolen trailer. A report was taken.
Domestic Violence IP: Officers were dispatched to a Falcon St. residence reference to a possible domestic situation. After a thorough investigation the incident was determined to be unfounded.
Driving Under the influence: Officers responded for a report of a single vehicle traffic accident on N. Sandhill Blvd. Upon arrival it was determined the driver of the vehicle had been drinking alcohol. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to maintain lane. No injuries were reported.

July 28:

Fraud: Officer responded to the police department regarding a report of fraud. Officer spoke with the victim and obtained all information available. Case is ongoing and will be forward to the detective bureau.
Lost Property: Officer responded to the police department lobby for a report of missing property. Officer took the report and advised the reporting person he would be contacted if the item is found.
Traffic accident W/O injury: An officer responded to a private property accident on Mesa Blvd. between two semi-trucks. A report was taken, a driver’s exchange was completed and photographs obtained.
Theft: Officer responded to a Hiawatha Way residence for a report of a theft. A report was taken.
Animal Bite: An officer responded to a local hospital for a report of an animal bite. It was determined that the animal was not a threat to the public and bit the owner during an incident with another dog. The owner and animal were not residents of Mesquite and were passing through when the incident took place.
Animal Pickup: An officer responded to the Animal Shelter for a report of a found dog. The reporting party brought the lost dog to the shelter due to it not having any collar or tags.
Theft from Vehicle: Officers responded to a local apartment complex for a report of a theft from a vehicle. Officers discovered a large rock had been used to break the victim’s vehicle window and steal property from within. The investigation is ongoing.
Animal Bite: Mesquite Officers responded to a Jacaranda residence reference an animal problem. Animal Control responded to assist and removed the animal from the home.
Traffic Accident w/ Damage: An officer was dispatched to a W. Hafen Ln. address in reference to an OHV accident. The accident had occurred earlier that evening near the Virgin River.
July 29:

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: An officer was dispatched to a Vineyard Ln. address, in reference to a property damage call.
Driving Under the influence: Officers responded to the parking lot of an E. Pioneer Blvd. business for a report of a person passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle. An arrest was made.
Property Damage, Non Vandalism: An officer responded to Grapevine Rd. apartment complex reference property damage to the parking lot.
Threatening: Officer responded to a report of threatening that had occurred. Officer spoke to the reporting person and determined no violation of the law had occurred.
Traffic accident W/O injury: An officer responded to a non-injury vehicle accident in the roadway.
Found Property: Officer responded to a report of found property. Officer booked the wallet in for safe keeping.
Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officers responded to a report of a vandalized vehicle on Riverside Rd.  Upon arrival officers documented the damage, evidence and a report was taken.
Assault IP: Officers responded to a residence for a report of an assault between two neighbors on Crestview Dr. After conducting interviews with the involved parties, one male subject was issued a citation for battery.
Citizen Assist: An officer responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. business for a report of two small children locked in a vehicle. The parents of the children requested the officer break the window in order to ensure the children’s safety. The children were removed from the vehicle, checked by medical personnel, and were found to be unharmed.

July 30:

Driving Under the influence:  Officer conducted a traffic stop for a moving violation. The adult male driver had been drinking alcohol and failed field sobriety tests. He was arrested for DUI (2nd), driving with a revoked driver license, and minor traffic offenses.
Traffic Stop: An officer made contact with an intoxicated subject who was parked on the side of the roadway on Riverside Rd. and Second South St., with her vehicle’s engine running.  This adult female subject was taken into custody for DUI-Alcohol (1st offense).
Controlled Substance Problem: Officers responded on a suspicious person at an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino. The person had left the casino. Officers later located the person and cited and released them.
Welfare Check: Officer responded to a W. Mesquite Blvd. motel for a request for a welfare check. Officer discovered the subject was deceased. Incident is further being handled by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
Threatening: Officer responded to the local hospital for a report of threats made to the Emergency Room Staff. A report was taken.
Traffic Accident w/ Injuries: Officers responded to a one vehicle roll-over accident on West Pioneer Boulevard. One person was transported to Mesa View Hospital with minor injuries.
Domestic Violence IP: Officers responded to a Mesa Blvd. residence for a report of a domestic incident between a mother and son. There was no physical violence and both parties agreed to separate for the evening.
Domestic Violence IP: Officers were dispatched to a Mesquite Springs Dr. address, in reference to a domestic in progress.
Petit Larceny: Officers responded to a N. Sandhill Blvd. grocery store reference a petit larceny.
Traffic Stop: An officer conducted a traffic stop for a minor violation. The driver of the vehicle was found in possession of an open container of alcohol. The driver was issued a citation and released.
Wanted person: Officers responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino in reference to a male subject who had been trespassed from the property. It was also confirmed the male had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant out of Mesquite Municipal Court for his arrest. Officers located the male and arrested him on the warrants and additional charges.
Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officers were dispatched to a W. Mesquite Blvd. convenience store, in reference to a suspicious person who had called 911.  After an investigation, an adult male subject was taken into custody for contempt of court.
