TDS customers receiving two free digital set-top boxes to begin the conversion TDS Telecom (TDS) is in the process of upgrading to all-digital TV service in Mesquite. And they are asking customers for help in completing the process called “analog reclamation.” In short, it is a process where TDS is able to convert low-efficiently analog video signals to more efficient digital signals. When completed with this process, TDS will then begin work to increase data speeds and introduce new high definition channels.
Before analog cable service shuts down, customers need to order a new digital set-top box for each TV in their home to allow adequate time for activation and avoid service interruption. TDS will provide 2 boxes free for the first six months.
For instance, if you have a TV in a bedroom or basement that doesn’t have a set-top box, you need to get one or you won’t be able to get channels on those televisions. In short, this new digital service requires a digital set-top box for every TV in the home.
“The faster we complete the conversion the better for the whole community. We’re confident our customers will be pleased with the upgraded TV service,” said Shane West, vice president of Marketing and Product Development. “Digital TV provides access to more TV channels, advanced set-top boxes with whole-home DVR functionality, more high definition channels and TV Everywhere.” TDS has been making improvements in the Mesquite market since last year, launching fast Internet with speeds up to 100Mbps, digital cable with high-definition and DVR options, and digital phone with unlimited nationwide calling. CatchTV™, the company’s whole-home entertainment product, is also now available on the new all-digital network. “We want to provide all of our customers with the most innovative products and services we have to offer,” West said. “We appreciate everyone’s help in completing the process quickly.” Customers are being asked to call 1-855-696-8375 to order the digital set-top boxes now in advance of the full analog service conversion. The set-top boxes will work on both standard- and high-definition televisions. Analog service will stop on or near Oct. 11, 2016. Visit www.HelloTDS.com/digital/mesquite for additional information on the conversion or to order your digital set-top boxes online.
I just want to say my wife went in there . And was really upset until a guy Josh helped her.. I just want to say thank you to TDS and Josh for going that extra mile for my wife .. My wife was one happy lady when she came home . And your prices are great ..
Free, by definition, doesn’t apply when there is a $3.50 fee, per box, per month after 6 months .. We’ll need 4, thank you for allowing us to contribute. Thanks also to the FCC for allowing these parasites to scramble cable signals, enabling them to rake in extra $$ from “renting” unneeded boxes and providing unnecessary features like “TV everywhere” .. Really? Who needs that?
They are trying to screw us up here in sun city.
We were supposed to get free basic cable till 2022 ,and now the hoa is trying to change what was agreed upon before the 2022 negotiations and make us pay for the box.
I heard a group are getting support to go against the hoa up here and take legal action when it goes dark.
Whosever fault it is we are paying in our hoa dues for the basic cable , and it was a written and good till 2022.
Someone is trying to screw the sun city mesquite residents again, and all the perks i paid for and were told we would recieve up here in sun city are slowly disappearing,
Or getting renegotiated before there due date.
I got a feeling it will not work this time.
Like the commercial, with the attorney on tv goes-
“Someone stole my basic cable i was to recieve till 2022 – someone should pay”
And the attorney says – “your right , someone should pay”
Either pulte is going to live up to there contract till 2022 or they will pay-lol
