Rodgers-08-25-16Tracy Lynn Rodgers has been recently been awarded the Ms. Nevada State America 2016 title by the Ms. America® Pageant.

The mission of the pageant is to celebrate the accomplishments of women, encourage them to be involved in community service, as well as use the “Crown for a Purpose” to make a difference.

The pageant is open to women 26 years of age and up who are single, divorced or married. The selection process for receiving a title was done by submitting an application, photo and followed up by an interview over the phone. Forty-seven women from across the United States will compete in Interview, Sportswear, Evening Gown and On-Stage Interview. “Tracy Rodgers really left a positive impression on our judges and we are thrilled to have her representing Nevada State at the 2016 Ms. America Pageant finals this summer,” said Susan Jeske, Pageant CEO.

Rodgers’ platform is: “Your tomorrow starts today.” Inspiring others to let go of the past and begin their future today.

Strength, wrapped in grace, is what this Nevada beauty is known for. At first glance, you’d never know this blonde hair, blue-eyed beauty fought for her life after a near fatal car crash. Rodgers’ platform, “Your Tomorrow Starts Today,” exemplifies how she pushed herself to live her life to the fullest with purpose, despite adversity.  With 26 years of nursing experience, Rodgers founded First Choice Legal Nurse Consulting, where she works as an expert witness, wound care clinician, and assists attorneys with litigated cases.  With all her successes, Rodgers still maintains that her greatest accomplishment is her two sons, Derrick and Damon.”

Rodgers is the survivor of a devastating car accident which took place on June 23, 2011. She was the reigning Ms. Nevada United States 2011 and due to compete at Nationals a week later when the car accident took her dreams from her. 2016 marks her five-year anniversary of the accident and after 21 broken bones and 29 surgeries, she’s ready to compete for the national title of Ms. America.

Rodgers was a longtime resident of Logandale, NV, and recently moved to Henderson, NV.  She owned Advanced Wound Care Consultants in Mesquite for three years and worked at Mesa View Regional Hospital as a registered nurse for seven years.

“I received much love and support from Mesquite residents when I sustained a devastating car accident in June 2011 when a tour bus made an illegal u-turn in front of me on I-15 when I was almost to Mesquite, Rodgers said.  “This is my 5 year ‘come-back’ and I wanted to share my story with the people of Mesquite who loved and supported me along the way.”

The Ms. America Pageant will be held on Sep. 3 at the Curtis Theater in Brea, California. Red Carpet starts at 6:30 p.m. and the pageant starts at 7:30 p.m.
