Police Blotter July 3-9, 2016
Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats. This week, there were 202 total incidents in the blotter:

July 3:

Intoxicated Person: An officer was dispatched to a Grapevine Rd. address in reference to an intoxicated person walking down the street. An adult/minor was cited and released for adult/minor in consumption of alcohol.
Criminal Homicide: Officers located an injured male on the side of the road on Pioneer Blvd.  The adult male had been stabbed during an altercation at a night club. Officers attempted to locate the suspect who had fled on foot. Detectives arrived to process the crime scene and gather evidence.
Fraud: Officers took a report by phone regarding a fraud case.
Fraud: Officer responded to a Rim Rock Ridge residence regarding fraud.  Officer obtained information and a report was taken.
Fraud: Officer’s spoke with on the phone with a victim who is out of state that wanted to report a fraud.
Fraud: Officers made contact with a victim of a fraud via telephone.
Fraud: Officer spoke with an individual reference fraud being perpetrated by an employee of a local management company.
Fraud:  Officer spoke with an individual in reference to fraud being perpetrated by an employee of a local management company.
Minor Gambling: Officer cited and released minor for gambling in an E. Pioneer Blvd casino.
Recovered Stolen Vehicle: Officer received information reference stolen vehicle recovered by MCSO.

July 4:

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: Officers responded to a Falcon Ridge Pkwy business regarding a non-injury accident.  Medical attention was not required and all needed information was obtained.
Property Damage, Non Vandalism: An officer responded to a report of property damage on W. Mesquite Blvd.

July 5:

Theft: Officers responded to a Riverside Rd. apartment complex on a report of a theft.
Fraud: Officer responded to the police department regarding a report of fraud. Officer spoke to the victim and obtained all information available and will forward the case to detectives.
Fraud: Officer responded to the police department regarding a report of fraud. Officer spoke to the victim and obtained all information available and will forward the case to detectives.
Property Damage: An officer responded to a West Pioneer Boulevard business and took a report concerning the business mail slot being tampered with.
Fraud:  Officer responded to the police department regarding a report of fraud. Officer spoke to the victim and obtained all information available and will forward the case to detectives.
Fraud: Officers responded to a Fraud call at the police station; the investigation is ongoing.
Fraud: An officer responded to the Police Department and took a report of an attempted fraud by telephone.
Fraud: Officer responded to the police department regarding a report of fraud. Officer spoke to the victim and obtained all information available and will forward the case to detectives.

Abuse/Neglect: An officer took a report of suspected abuse of two minor children. A welfare check was conducted and a report completed.

Fraud: An Officer met with a male subject on E. Pioneer Blvd. and took a report of fraud concerning a rental property. Information was received and report taken.
Dead Body:  Officer’s attempted to locate a female who was reported to be suicidal. The female was found deceased in a local parking lot.
Stolen Vehicle: RP called the Mesquite Police from out of state and reports her vehicle which she left at a friend’s residence in Mesquite has been stolen.
Traffic Stop: One adult female was cited and released for open container of alcohol in vehicle after being stopped for traffic violations.

July 6:

Stolen Vehicle: Officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle and the investigation is ongoing.
Fraud: Officer responded to a report of a fraud. Officer took the report and investigation is ongoing.
Fraud: Officer responded to a report of a fraud. Officer took the report and investigation is ongoing.
Found Property:  Officer responded to a call at the police department lobby reference found property. Citizen turned over found property to officer who secured it until the owner can be located.
Recovered Stolen Vehicle: A locally stolen vehicle was recovered in Mohave County Arizona.
Fraud: Officer responded to the police department for a report of fraud. Officer took the report and investigation is ongoing.
Citizen Dispute: Officer’s responded to Eucalyptus Ln. on an alleged weapons charge. During the course of the investigation it was later determined to be a false incident.
Fraud: Officer responded to the police department reference a report of a fraud. Officer took the report and investigation is ongoing.
Fraud: Officer responded to the lobby of the police department for a report of a fraud. Officer took the report and investigation is ongoing.
Fraud: Officer responded to a report of a fraud. Officer took the report and investigation is ongoing.
Fraud: An Officer took a fraud report.
Runaway Juvenile: Officer responded to a report of a juvenile runaway. Juvenile was located and returned to his mother.
Suspicious/Person: An officer responded to an El Dorado Rd. business for a report of a suspicious female. The officer contacted a female matching the description walking away from the business. Upon identifying the female, it was learned she had a Mesquite Municipal warrant for her arrest. She was also found in possession of drug paraphernalia. The female was arrested for the warrant and the paraphernalia.
Controlled Substance Problem: An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation. The adult driver and passenger were in possession of marijuana. The driver was issued a citation for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The passenger was cited for possession of marijuana.

July 7

Fraud: Officer responded to the police department lobby reference a report of a fraud. Officer took the report and investigation is ongoing.
Fraud: Officer responded to a call of fraud. The investigation is ongoing.
Fraud: An officer took a report regarding a victim’s identity being used to open credit cards.
Theft: Officer responded to a W. Pioneer Blvd. department store for a report of a theft. Officer took the report and investigation is ongoing.
Keep The Peace: An officer was dispatched to Hillside Dr. to keep the peace during a child custody exchange. The incident was documented due to the other party not arriving.
Fraud: Officer responded to the police department lobby for a report of fraud. Officer took report and investigation is ongoing.
Dead Body: An officer was dispatched to a N. Sandhill Blvd. parking lot reference an agency assist. An adult female subject was found deceased in her vehicle.
Trespassing: Officers responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. business for a report of an intoxicated individual. Officers contacted the male subject and learned he had been previously issued a trespass warning from the business. The male was arrested for trespassing.
Welfare Check: An officer responded to a Shade Tree Ln. residence for a welfare check. All involved parties were found to be in good health and well taken care of.
July 8:

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: An Officer responded on a delayed private property vehicle accident on Aztec Circle. A driver’s exchange was completed for the involved parties.
Controlled Substance Problem:  Officer was conducting an investigation on a previous incident when contact was made with a subject in possession of illegal narcotics. Officer took the subject into custody without incident and transported him to the detention center for booking.
Traffic Violation: Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for various traffic violations. The male adult driver was arrested for possession of narcotics.
Traffic accident W/O injury: Officer responded to a parking lot of a Mesa Blvd. condominium for a report of a minor vehicle accident. Officer completed a driver’s exchange form and issued a copy to both drivers.
Animal Pickup: An officer responded to a Fountain View Ln. park for a report of an animal problem. Upon arrival the involved party was no longer in the area. There were no injuries or aggressive animals involved. The reporting party requested a report be taken due to this being a recurring problem.
Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officers responded to a Duchess Ln. residence reference a suspicious incident. An information report was completed.
Welfare Check:  Officers responded to a Mesa Blvd. residence for a report of a possible robbery. The reporting party had received a message three hours prior to calling police that a family member had been robbed. The alleged victim did not call police and officers were unable to locate any information to substantiate the reported robbery.
Domestic Violence IP:  Officers responded to a S. Grapevine Dr. residence reference a domestic violence incident. Officers determined a domestic battery had occurred and the suspect left the scene. The investigation is ongoing.

July 9:

Hit & Run: An officer responded to a Second South St. business for a report of a hit and run traffic accident that occurred on private property. There was very limited offender information and minor damage to the victim vehicle.
Controlled Substance Problem: An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation. During the traffic stop, the adult male driver was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and had an active arrest warrant; the male was arrested.
Recovered Stolen Vehicle: Mesquite Police were notified that a vehicle stolen from Mesquite was recovered in Las Vegas. A report was taken.
Stolen Vehicle: Officers responded to a Parkview Dr. residence after he called to report a stolen ATV.
Theft: Officers responded to a report of theft from an apartment complex on E. Old Mill Rd.
Traffic accident W/O injury: An officer responded to a two vehicle non-injury accident on East Pioneer Boulevard. An accident report was completed and citation issued.
Identification Check: Officer responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino regarding an underage person gambling. Officer issued two citations and the subject was released to an adult family member.
Found Property: Officers responded to Fire Station 1 on a report of found property.
Indecent Exposure: Officers responded to an indecent exposure call at an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino. Male subject was located, identified and arrested for obscene/indecent acts and obstructing a public officer.
Vandalism: Officer responded to a report of vandalism. Reporting party believed it happened in Utah, but did stop at a local store where it could have happened. Photographs were taken; there are no leads at this time.
