MESQUITE, NEV. – The Nevada Department of Transportation announces a nightly closure 2,500 feet in each direction from Milepost 117.5 along Interstate 15 in Mesquite from 6:30 p.m., July 18, until 6 a.m., July 19. Traffic will be detoured onto newly constructed north and southbound I-15 on- and off-ramps, with a reduced 45-mph speed limit.

The temporary closures are needed for the City of Mesquite’s new $14.7 million diamond interchange at Milepost 118. Meadow Valley Contractors is the design-build contractor, with Horrocks Engineers as construction manager.

“The new interstate exit creates a direct link to the Mesquite Technology and Commerce Center for improved pick-up and drop-off efficiency, thereby limiting heavy truck traffic on surface streets for smoother local commutes,” said NDOT spokesman Tony Illia.

The project is scheduled to finish later this month. Motorists should use caution while travelling through the work zone, heed construction signage, and take alternate routes, if possible. For current road information go to: www.nvroads.com
