The July Splash of Color competition and exhibit at the Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery is sponsored by Barbara Ellestad, a long-time supporter of the gallery. Ellestad didn’t choose this particular exhibit but rather the month in which she prefers to sponsor the artists’ showcase of talent. The month of July is her choice because it’s the anniversary of her starting the Mesquite Citizen Journal online newspaper in 2011.

Ellestad chooses to support the gallery and the artists because she’s always admired the quality and beauty of the art the local artists create. She’s purchased several pieces from the gallery over the years and she cherishes each one. But mostly she cherishes the friendships she’s made through the gallery.

The Splash of Color is available to the public through July 30. An Open House reception will be held on July 21 at 4 p.m. Winners of the exhibit will be announced at the reception.

One of the things I miss the most when I am away for the summer is the Fine Arts Gallery. This month’s exhibit looks fantastic according to the pictures by Teri. Thanks for running articles about the gallery and other goings on about town. I like keeping in touch. Maggie
