Southern Nevada Health District launches Mobile HIV testing partnership

WHAT: The Southern Nevada Health District will launch its Mobile HIV Testing Unit with the AIDS Healthcare Foundation to commemorate National HIV Testing Day, Monday, June 27.

WHY: The Mobile HIV Testing Unit is part of the Southern Nevada Health District and AIDS Healthcare Foundation’s strategy to increase HIV and STD testing in Southern Nevada. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends HIV testing for everyone between the ages of 13 and 64 and reports that approximately 156,000- plus people are infected with HIV and are unaware of their infection.

WHO: Representatives from the Southern Nevada Health District and AIDS Healthcare Foundation will be available to answer questions regarding the mobile testing unit, which will be available for tours.
