Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats. This week, there were 166 total incidents in the blotter:

May 22:
Theft from Vehicle: Officers were dispatched to the parking lot of a Mesa Blvd. business for a report of theft from a motor vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.
Driving under the influence: An officer conducted a traffic stop on N. Grapevine Ave for a moving violation. The adult male driver had been drinking alcohol and refused field sobriety tests. He was arrested for DUI, driving with a suspended driver license, and one minor traffic offense.
Property Damage, Non Vandalism: An officer was dispatched to a Sun Valley apartment complex.
Fighting:  Officers responded to a disturbance at a Sun Valley Dr. apartment complex. Two females were cited.
Domestic Violence IP W/ Gun: Officers responded to a domestic dispute involving a gun shot on Ocotillo Ln. One adult male was arrested and one adult female received citation and was released with a court date based on the investigation.
Hit & Run: Officers responded to a traffic accident on a public roadway. The driver at fault was arrested on several traffic violations.

May 23:
Domestic Violence IP: Officers were dispatched to a Riverside Rd. residence in reference to an alleged domestic battery. It’s reported a male subject left the scene prior to the officer’s arrival. The report was completed and forwarded for city attorney review.
Threatening: An officer took a report of a third party verbal threat that was reported as a matter of record.
Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officers responded to a damaged property case at a W. Mesquite Blvd. business.
Found Property: An officer was dispatched to take custody of a found razor. The item was booked in as found property at the Mesquite Justice facility.
May 24:
Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officers responded to a Rivers Bend Dr. residence on a report of damaged property.
Theft: An officer responded to a Jacaranda Way residence for a report of the theft of items from the garage. Information received and report completed.
Welfare Check: Officers responded to a Highland View Dr. residence on a welfare check.  Officer was able to see an adult male who was unresponsive to all attempts to gain his attention. Medical arrived and made entrance and confirmed the party was okay.
Civil Matter: Officers responded to a W. Mesquite Blvd. business where an employee needed advice about a restraining order.
Controlled Substance Problem: Detectives collected medication for the Drug Take Back Program.
Domestic Violence IP:  Officers responded to a report of a domestic dispute in progress on W. Mesquite Blvd. One adult male and one adult female were arrested for violations based on the investigation.
Battery on Person: Officers responded to a disorderly in progress on W. Mesquite Blvd. Result of the investigation lead to one male cited for battery.

May 25:
Battery on Person:  Officer responded to a local business for a report of a battery. An individual was issued a citation for battery.
Theft: Officer responded to a report of a theft of property at a Mesa Blvd. hotel. Officer took the report and investigation is ongoing.
Theft: Officer responded to a N. Sandhill Blvd. business for a report of a theft. A report was taken and the adult male suspect was later arrested for burglary and possession of stolen property.

May 26:
Person on Foot: An officer stopped a pedestrian for jaywalking. The adult male was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, burglary tools, and other offenses.
Person on Foot: Officers contacted a male subject in the parking lot of a N. Sandhill Blvd. business. The male was arrested after he was found in possession of drug paraphernalia and an illegal substance.
Domestic Trouble: Officers were dispatched to a W. Mesquite Blvd. motel room in reference to a suspicious situation. The reporting person stated a woman was in trouble and was trying to leave the room, but would not give any further information. An adult male subject was later arrested for domestic battery (1st offense).
Theft: An officer took a report for a stolen remote control truck on Honeysuckle Ct.
Theft: Officer responded to a W. Pioneer Blvd. department store for a report of a theft. Officer took the report and investigation is ongoing.
Missing Person: An officer took a runaway juvenile report from a mother.
Fraud: Officer responded to the Police Department for a report of a fraud. It was determined that the crime was committed outside local jurisdiction. A report was taken and forwarded to the appropriate law enforcement agency.
Juvenile Problem: Mesquite officer responded to a Valley View Dr. school in reference to a juvenile problem.
Lost Property: An officer took a lost property report.
Phone Harassment: Officer responded to a harassment incident involving neighbors on Fairway Dr. It was determined no crime was committed and a documentation report was completed.
Trespassing IP: Officers responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. business for a report of a male subject who was trespassing. Officers contacted the male and issued him a citation. The male left the property without incident.
Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officers responded to a Whitey Lee Ln. residence reference a noise complainant/weapons offense. An adult female reported hearing a possible loud noise or gun shot near her residence. The investigation is ongoing.
Property Damage, Non Vandalism: An officer responded to a Mesa Blvd. parking lot in reference to vandalism to a vehicle.  A report was taken to document the damage.
Mental Person: Officers responded to the Mesquite Detention Center to assist with a suicidal inmate. The inmate was transported to the hospital and later released back into the custody of corrections officers.

May 27:
Disorderly Conduct: Officers were dispatched to a W. Mesquite Blvd. casino in reference to a domestic in progress. An adult male subject was taken into custody for breach of peace.
Wanted person: Mesquite Police Officers responded to a Mesa Blvd. business on a theft complaint. Officers contacted the male offender and confirmed he had three warrants for his arrest out of Mesquite Municipal Court. The business refused charges for the theft. The male was arrested for the warrants.
Unsecure Premise: Officer responded to an E. Mesquite Blvd. hotel reference an unsecured premises. A property check was performed and nobody was located on the property.
Graffiti: An officer completed a graffiti report on W. Hafen Ln.
Missing Person: Officers took a report of a missing person from Smoke Signal Ct. The person was located shortly after the report was taken.
Phone Harassment: An officer took a report of harassing comments being made on Facebook, information received and report taken.
Civil Dispute: An officer responded to the front lobby of the Mesquite Justice Facility in reference to a verbal dispute.

May 28:
Person on Foot: An officer contacted a female juvenile on W. Hafen Ln. and Verllonia St. out past curfew. The officer transported the juvenile to her home and turned her over to the custody of her mother. No citations were issued.
Domestic Violence IP: Officers were dispatched to a Mesa Blvd. address in reference to a domestic in progress.  An adult female subject was arrested for domestic battery and obstructing a public officer.  An adult male subject was arrested for possession of marijuana under one ounce and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Wanted Person: While investigating a harassment phone call on Thistle St. an officer made contact with a male subject with a warrant out of the Municipal Court of Mesquite. Male was placed into custody and transported to Mesquite Detention Center.
Civil Dispute: An officer responded to a reported domestic situation on Arguello Cir. which was found to be a verbal dispute between husband and wife. Parties were separated for the evening.
Stolen Vehicle: Officers received a report of a stolen vehicle on Hillside Dr. A written statement was gathered and the investigation is ongoing.
