I want to take this opportunity to share my recent personal experience with the Virgin Valley Water District.
I returned to my home on Leavitt Lane late on April 28, after a long day in Las Vegas, to find water shooting out of the driveway and sidewalk in front of the house. I shut off the water at the meter, which did nothing to stop the flow. We called the emergency number for the VVWD at 8:35 p.m. Chris, from the water crew, was in my driveway assessing the situation within five minutes. He quickly established the problem to be on their side of the meter, and assured me that the problem was not going to be my responsibility. Within a few minutes, we had Chris, Kasen and Adam, along with a dump truck, backhoe, service truck and vacuum/compressor rig on the job.
The crew attacked the job with professionalism and urgency, and never a hint of complaint about having their evening interrupted, and were never too busy to keep us informed on what was happening.
In one hour and three minutes this team of professionals received the call, found and fixed the problem, and had finished the cleanup, ready for the permanent repairs to be scheduled soon.
I have been in construction for forty years, and have never seen an emergency job go this smoothly. I thank the water crew of Chris, Kasen and Adam, as well as the Board of Directors and management of Virgin Valley Water District, who were responsible for putting this caliber of emergency response protocol in place.

Kudos to the Water District fast, first responders.

    Question for the water district:
This writer, as many others, lives in Mesquite in an HOA.

Is the same service and such via the Water District, responsible for similar water leaks/ problems that occur before the residence water meter?
