On Friday, May 20 Beaver Dam High School Seniors were awarded scholarships for their outstanding academic achievements.

Zack Hurt was Mesquite Rotary’s $500 Scholarship Winner. Selection is based on GPA, school involvement, being in the Interact Club which is a Rotary sponsored high school level club, and writing an essay on “What the Four Way Test” means to him. The Four Way Test is: 1. Is It the Truth? 2. Is It Fair to All Concerned? 3. Will It Build Good Will and Better Friendship? 4. Will it Be Beneficial to All Concerned?

Two Principal’s Scholarships were also awarded in the amount of $500 each to high school seniors Rebecca Garlick and Elynn Lopez.

The Principal’s Scholarship is awarded for outstanding academics and activities and is funded through private donations.

This year Beaver Dam High School will be graduating 35 students on Friday, May 27; nearly double what the graduating class was in 2015.

School counselors, teachers and staff wish the graduates all the best.
