Airplane goes down in Arizona Stip

A private airplane (Cessna 172) with two passengers onboard made an emergency landing in the Virgin River Gorge at about 12:15 p.m. Monday in the area of Interstate 15 at mile post 12 – 3.7 miles north of Littlefield, Arizona – just beyond the northbound entrance into the Virgin River Gorge.

Smoke was reportedly coming from the cockpit but It has been determined that the two passengers suffered only minor injuries.

Beaver Dam Fire and Rescue is on the scene with Chief Andre Ojeda leading incident command. Chief Ojeda will remain on the scene with Chief Hunt.

    The plane did not crash, it made an emergency landing. There is a HUGE difference.
