Blotter Report March 26-April 3, 2016
Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats. This week, there were 167 total incidents in the blotter:

March 27:
Assault IP: Officers responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino on a report of a fight. One female was arrested for breach of peace.
Theft:  An officer was dispatched to a Mesa Blvd. casino, in reference to a lost property report. A report was completed.
Controlled Substance Problem: An officer conducted an investigative stop on a female for jaywalking on Riverside Dr. and W. Mesquite Blvd. Upon further investigation, the female was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The female was arrested on several drug offenses.
Theft: An officer was dispatched to a W. Mesquite Blvd. convenience store, in reference to a theft.
Keep The Peace: Officer responded to a Shade Tree Ln. residence regarding a custody issue involving a child.  Officer spoke with all parties involved and took written statements. Investigation continues.
Found Property: Officer responded to a Second South St. park on a report of found property.  Upon arrival the officer took custody of a small brown child’s purse which contained no identification.  Officer placed the purse in the evidence vault until the owner can claim it.
Wanted Person: Officers responded on a report of threatening. It was determined no threatening had occurred and one adult male was arrested for a warrant without further incident.
March 28:
Theft: Officers responded to a W. Pioneer Blvd. business on a report of a shoplifter, a male adult was released with a citation.
Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officer responded to a report of an open door on a Pulispher Ln. residence, nothing criminal observed at this time.
Juvenile Problem: Officers responded to a call of a missing juvenile on Mesquite Springs Dr.  that didn’t get off the bus; shortly after officers arrived to investigate, the child was found safe.
Trespassing IP: Officers responded to a W. Mesquite Blvd. fast food restaurant for a trespass violator. The adult male subject was located and arrested on the trespass violation.
March 29:
Controlled Substance Problem:  A W. Blvd. casino contacted the Mesquite Police for assistance with a patron who was gambling and had no identification. The ID check lead to a suspicious person investigation.
Lost Property:  An Officer took a report of a lost driver license.
Dead Body:  An Officer was conducting a welfare check at the request of an out of town family member. An adult male was found to be deceased due to natural causes.
Theft from Vehicle: Officers responded to a local apartment complex on a report of a stolen license plate from a vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.
Theft from Vehicle: An officer took a report of a missing license plate.
Agency Assistance: Officers responded to an agency assist on Tuscany Circle. Female cut her own neck and was treated by the paramedics.
Wanted Person: Officer responded to the Mesquite Municipal Court for a wanted person. A male individual was arrested for warrant.
March 30:
Wanted Person: Detectives made contact with an adult male with a felony, fugitive warrant out of Utah. The warrant was confirmed with full extradition. Detectives placed the male under arrest and transported him to the Mesquite Detention Center.
Theft:  Officer responded to a Mesquite Springs Dr. residence for a report of a theft. Officer took the report and investigation is on ongoing.
Traffic accident W/O injury: Officer responded to a two vehicle accident with no injuries at 950 W. Mesquite Blvd. A report was taken.
Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officer responded on a report of graffiti at a park on Old Mill Rd. A report was taken.
Theft from Vehicle: An Officer assisted a citizen with filing a report for stolen magnetic signs from Partridge Ln.
Animal complaint: An Officer responded to a Whitey Lee Ln. residence reference an animal problem.
March 31:
Truancy:  Mesquite Officer responded to a W. Hafen Ln. school reference a truant student.
Suspicious Person/Circumstance: An Officer responded to a delivery service regarding suspicious ordering activity the owners had questions about.
Fraud: Officer responded to the police department for a report of check fraud. A report was taken and the investigation is ongoing.
Hit & Run: An officer was dispatched to a W. Pioneer Blvd. grocery store parking lot, in reference to a hit and run traffic accident.
Traffic Stop: An officer conducted a traffic stop on W. Mesquite Blvd. on a vehicle for a traffic violation.  The driver was later arrested for a misdemeanor warrant and a felony warrant.
Welfare Check:  Officers responded to a Ruby Cir. residence for a welfare check of an elderly woman. The RP believed his mother was being mistreated by his sister. Officers conducted interviews with all involved parties. There are no charges stemming from the investigation.
Domestic Trouble: Officers were dispatched to a Lake Ridge Ct. residence, in reference to a domestic situation.
April 1:
Driving Under the Influence: Officer responded to a report of a possible intoxicated driver. Vehicle was located parked and unoccupied at a residence on Kitty Hawk Dr. Officer was unable to locate the driver of the vehicle.
Found Property: A found purse was turned into the police department. A report was made.
Found Property: Officer responded to the police department for a report of found property. Officer took custody of the found property and booked it as found property and secured it.
Theft: An Officer responded to a report of a found wallet on Pulsipher Ln.  The wallet was returned to the owner but missing cash.  After an investigation, an adult female was located and cited for petit larceny.
April 2:
Found Property: An Officer responded to the Police Department for a report of found property. A report was taken and the property placed into the property vault, for safe keeping.
Traffic accident W/O injury: Report of a hit and run in a local business parking lot on Calais Dr.
Traffic accident W/O injury: An Officer took a report of a Hit & Run accident, occurring in a Casino Parking lot. A report was completed and the incident is under investigation.
Traffic Stop: Officer conducted a traffic stop on Kitty Hawk Dr & Marilyn Pkwy on a vehicle exceeding the posted speed limit. Upon contact the officer determined the driver was operating the vehicle on a suspended license.  Upon further investigation it was determined the driver was also believed to be under the influence of alcohol.
Hit & Run: Virgin River employee vehicle is the subject of a hit and run while parked in employee parking while the employee was working. No suspects at this time.
April 3:
Identification Check: A young adult female was cited and released for underage gambling at an E. Pioneer Blvd casino.
