“I just love the job and the people I work with,” said Travis Leavitt, Mesquite Fire & Rescue’s newest Firefighter and EMT. He was sworn in Monday morning in front of Station 1, 10 E. Mesquite Blvd.

Leavitt, 25, has lived in Mesquite his whole life, and will be a welcome addition to the short-staffed fire department. “It’s great to have Travis on board,” said Fire Chief Kash Christopher. “He’s a ‘Son of Mesquite’ and will do just fine.”
