The Virgin Valley High School Lady Bulldogs were outnumbered before the track meet even began Wednesday March 16, as the Crusaders from Faith Lutheran had a plethora of entrants in all events. The Bulldogs scored 63.5 points, good enough for second but well short of the Crusaders 165 points. Moapa finished third and Western brought up the rear.

Leading the way for the Lady Dawgs were sprinter Abbie Barnum who won the 300 meter hurdles, ran the second leg of the winning 4X100 relay team along with Emily Teerlink, Emma Barnum and Kaydee Bingham. Bernice Fiso impressed with wins in the discus and shot in her first outing of the year. Emma Barnum, also in her first outing placed second in the 100 meter hurdles, tied for third in the high jump and placed fifth in the long jump. Bingham had a fourth in the 200 meter dash and was very impressive as anchor on the swift 4X100 relay team who may shatter VVHS’s school record before the season ends. Freshman Macee Bundy may crack the Bulldogs relay lineup as she shot by her Crusader opponent in the 4X200 meter relay to clinch a win for the Dawgs. Joining Bundy on the winning relay were Elizabeth Deleon, Mikayla Brotherson and Cassie Powers. Bundy also placed fifth in the 100 and 200 meter dashes. Other point getters for the

Dawgs were Hanna Haviland with a third in the 400 meters, pole-vaulter Dylan Bryant with a third place and Markell Ludvigson with a second in the triple jump.
