Bulldog Track and Field

The VVHS track and field squads return to action after a two week hiatus. The Dawgs will travel to Faith Lutheran on March 29 for a weekday quad meet. The Crusaders won the Virgin Valley Quad meet handily the last time the Dawgs competed winning the men’s side 101.5 to 72 and the women’s side 165 to 63.5. Faith’s men dominated the middle and long distances in the last meet while their girl’s scored heavily in the running events and jumps. VVHS counters with Bernice Fiso in the weights, Abbie Barnum in the 300 meter hurdles and their swift 4X100 and 4X200 meter relay teams. Bulldog coach Gary Hartman can choose between sprinters Kaydee Bingham, Abbie Barnum, Emily Teerlink, Emma Barnum, Elizabeth DeLeon and freshman Macee Bundy to fill the relays. The Dawgs 4X100 team is threatening the school’s record.
