Buttery Beer BreadBeer-Bread-logo-1

Ingredients:

Beer bread is leavened with both baking powder and brew bubbles producing wonderful dense bread with a distinctive mild fermented taste.

3 cups flour
¼ cup sugar
1-tablespoon baking powder
1-teaspoon salt
1 bottle (12 oz.) of beer, any kind
½ cup butter, melted

Preparation:

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Oil a 9 X 5-inch loaf pan. In a medium bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt together. Stir in the beer just until well mixed. Pour batter into the oiled pan. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes or until bread tests done with a toothpick. Remove loaf from oven and pour melted butter over the top. Allow bread to cool in the pan for at least 30 minutes before removing. Cool loaf before slicing.

Makes 1 loaf
