MorenoScholarship-02-04-16David Moreno was recently announced as the recipient of a $500 Mesa View Medical Staff EMS Scholarship.

“I cannot express how thankful I am to Mesa View Regional Hospital Medical Staff, CSN Mesquite, the CSN EMT Program, Mesquite Fire Rescue for hosting the class and for the many Preceptors who allowed me to work with real patients,” Moreno said.

While this is Moreno’s first step to his career goal and is yet undecided what his final career choice will be, he has many options.

Moreno has a dream of working for Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Search and Rescue because of the combination of law enforcement and medicine. He also has the dream of working for a fire department because of the many opportunities that are available. Nursing is also a possibility David says because despite the stereotype of a female nurse getting orders from a male doctor, he wants to show that nurses can do much more.

Moreno said that although there is limited employment in Mesquite he wants to give back to the community for the support they show to the first responders.

Moreno attended the College of Southern Nevada High School (East Cheyenne) his junior and half of his senior year, attended College of Southern Nevada – Major in Paramedic Medicine, is

Explorer Sergeant for the Mesquite Police Department Explorer POST for four years, Explorer for Mesquite Fire Rescue Explorer POST for two years and is a current member of the Cultural Council at Smith’s Food and Drug (Cultural Council is a group of employees who want to acknowledge the great employees at Smith’s and help the community of Mesquite through volunteer work.)
