Harvey HurtadoMesquite, NV – On Friday, February 12, Mesquite Police Officers received a report of a male suspect who while driving his vehicle, pointed a handgun and threatened the driver of another vehicle. Officers were able to identify the male suspect as well as his place of residence in Mesquite Nevada. Officers setup surveillance of the suspect’s residence and attempted to locate him within the Mesquite area. On February 13, Mesquite Police Officers located the suspect in Mesquite and were able to safely take him into custody.

Once the suspect was in custody, Mesquite detectives were able to progress their investigation through securing and executing a search warrant on the suspect’s residence and vehicle. The search of the suspect’s vehicle and residence yielded a firearm, cocaine, and approximately 124 marijuana plants.

The suspect, Harvey Hurtado, 27, of Mesquite Nevada, was arrested and charged with: Felony assault with a deadly weapon, felony grand larceny, felony attempted trafficking of marijuana, felony possession of a controlled substance (cocaine), and one felony count of burglary.
