Kids For Sports, a foundation organized and operated by Wolf Creek Golf Course owners Chad and Cory Clemetson in 2014, has received a thank-you plaque for their role in sending three local kids to the Utah State Select/Olympic Development Team.

Jaymie Hulet, Zachary Trimming and Addison Pletzke were three of eight who tried out for the soccer program. Since making the team, they have traveled to Salt Lake City each weekend for training. The grants awarded to them from Kids for Sports covers their travel and lodging costs each weekend.

Scott Trimming, the coach to all three players in the FC Mesquite Club, said he is proud of his players. “It’s not easy making it to the level they have reached,” he said. “This endeavor has shown a great sense of dedication in both the players and the parents. I’m very proud of them.”

To date, the Kids for Sports Foundation has granted a total of $13,389.39 to local athletes with another $570 pending approval this week. The monies have been spread among 96 kids in 19 athletic sports/events. Their next fundraising event is their annual golf tournament on Jan. 16. Last year, the event sold out and raised nearly $14,000 for the program.
