The Virgin Valley High School Lady Bulldogs lost their second game in a row Friday night, Jan. 15 as they were blown out in the second half by the Desert Pines High School Jaguars 45-31. As in previous losses the Dawgs could not handle the opposition’s press and committed numerous turnovers.

The Dawgs led 12-6 after one period and 16-13 after one half of play. The Dawgs were outscored 21-9 in the third period as they trailed 34-25. The Jaguar’s press pushed the Dawgs into turnovers outscoring the Bulldogs 11-6 in the final period for the 45-31 win.

The loss dropped the Dawgs league record to 4-2 after starting at 4-0. Chaparral and Desert Pines sit on top with 6-0 league records. Brianna Todd led the Dawgs with 12 points followed by Emma Barnum with eight points.

The Dawgs travel to Boulder City on the Jan. 19 before hosting TECH on Thursday Jan. 21.
