Although the second annual Kids for Sports golf tournament saw four less teams than last year, monies raised were nearly just as good.

Preliminary figures show that the event, hosted by Wolf Creek Golf Club, brought in just over $13,000 for the Kids for Sports Foundation, which assists local kids with fees and costs related to sports both in school or outside of school.

“I think everybody had a great time, it was very successful,” said Nancy Hewett, Executive Assistant for Wolf Creek Golf Club.

Thanks to local businesses, there were plenty of prizes to raffle off, including a 50” TV and a drone with a camera on it.

Several golfers walked away with some hefty prize packages because of their skilled play during the tournament. Winners for the day were:

1st Overall: Mark Yardley, Cash Yardley, Derek Jensen and Taylor Yardley.

1st Men’s: Brad McLaughlin, Adam White, Matt Davis and Brandon Plonehn.

1st Women’s: Sheryl Warfield, Joann Florence, Allison Webb and Robin Reed.
