Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats.

Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for Dec. 6- Dec. 12, 2015.

Dec. 6:

Traffic accident W/O injury: An Officer responded to a two vehicle non injury accident in the area of Pioneer Blvd and I-15. A citation was issued and an accident report completed.

Minor Gambling:  An Officer responded to a Casino where a 19-year-old female was found to be

gambling. A citation was issued and the female was released with a Court date.

 

Dec. 7:

Trespassing IP:  An Officer responded to a Casino and arrested a male subject for trespassing. The male was placed into custody and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center.

Traffic accident W/O injury:  An Officer responded to the Recreation Center reference a minor two-vehicle property damage accident.

Vandalism: Officers responded to a residence reference vandalism to a vehicle.  A report was taken.

Background Investigation:  An officer conducted a background check for a business license applicant.

Wanted Person:  Officers observed an adult male with an active municipal court warrant.  The male was taken into custody.

Intoxicated Person: Officers responded to a local gas station for a report of a shoplifter. Upon arrival, the reporting person stated the suspect was still outside the store with the stolen items. The male was identified and arrested.

 

Dec. 8:

Burglary: An Officer responded to the burglary of a business. The business had been broken into and cash and other items taken. The crime scene was processed and the crime is under investigation.

Intoxicated Person:  Officers responded to a call of an intoxicated male.  After arriving the male became disorderly and was arrested.

Animal complaint:  Officers responded to a vehicle versus animal accident on Mesquite Boulevard.

Hit & Run: Officers responded to a report of hit and run. The complainant’s only description of the suspects’ vehicle was the vehicle was a lifted white Dodge Diesel Pick up. The Dodge backed up at the intersection to change lanes and struck the complainants vehicle. Then drove off.

Stolen Vehicle: Officers responded to a local fast food restaurant reference a stolen vehicle.  Upon arrival Officers located the occupied stolen vehicle in the parking lot. The occupant was arrested for unlawful taking of a vehicle.

 

Dec. 9:

Verbal Dispute IP:  Officers responded to a disturbance among family members. After interviewing the

involved parties, one female was arrested for battery domestic violence.

Found Property:  Officers received two items of found property from a civilian. Officers were unable to determine the owner(s) of the property. The property was booked as found.

Wanted Person:  Officer made contact with a male with an active felony warrant. Warrant had previously been confirmed and the male was arrested without incident.

Theft:  A officer was dispatched to a local grocery store, reference theft of property.  The female juvenile subject was located and issued a citation for theft and released to the custody of her mother.

Traffic accident W/O injury:  Officers responded to a traffic accident involving two vehicles. No injuries

were reported.

Domestic Trouble:  Officer took a report for a domestic incident that occurred at an unknown time

in November.

Theft: An officer was dispatched to a local residence, in reference to a theft.

Domestic Trouble:  Officers responded to a residence reference a domestic dispute. Contact was made with an adult male and female who had a verbal argument regarding a child. No crime occurred and an information report was completed.

Traffic Stop:  An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic offense.  The driver was later arrested for DUI-Alcohol (first offense) and other traffic offenses.

Driving Under the Influence: Officers arrested a male for driving while intoxicated.

Domestic Violence IP W/ Weapon:  An officer responded to report of a domestic dispute. Contact was made with a male and female who had a verbal argument. No evidence of a crime was observed.

 

Dec. 10:

Theft:  An officer was dispatched to a local department store, reference theft of items.  Report taken and the investigation continues.

Vandalism:  Two vehicle had been reported to have been vandalized. The suspect(s) was only identified as a large female driving a Chrysler sedan who was seen in the area.

 

Dec 11:

Traffic Stop:  Officers conducted a traffic stop for speeding. The driver of the vehicle had a warrant for her arrest issued out of county. The driver was arrested for speeding and driving on a suspended license and for an extensive history of failure to appear in court.

Fraud:  An officer was dispatched to a local residence, in reference to a fraud report.

Traffic Stop:  An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a moving violation. Contact was made with the driver and passenger, and they were both found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. The passenger was also in possession of an illegal controlled substance. Both males were arrested for these violations.

 

Dec. 12:

Domestic Violence IP:  Officers responded to a residence reference a male and female physically fighting.  After an investigation, both the male and female were arrested for domestic battery.
