Obituary-Bundy-12-17-15Margaret “Bodel” Jensen Bundy passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 in Bunkerville, Nevada. She was born February 3, 1924 in Mesquite, NV. –  the 10th child of 14 born to John and Christina Jensen. On September 28, 1943, she married her cowboy sweetheart David Ammon Bundy in the St. George, Utah temple.

Bodel raised her family of 7 children on the ranch in Riverside, Nevada. She taught them the value of hard work, keeping them busy gardening, irrigating, sheep herding, working cows, and growing Bundy Melons. Anyone who came to visit was well fed and loved.  When you are a rancher, a farmer and an irrigator, plus a mother of 7 – the words “shit”, “damn”, and “hell” are NOT swear words!

In 1972, Dave moved Bodel to Bunkerville saying he was saving her from working herself to death. She then worked serving the valley becoming community center coordinator. She worked tirelessly keeping the parks and cemeteries green, neat and tidy. Everyone in the valley was a recipient of her kindness and compassionate service.

Bodel was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served willingly in many callings – always going above and beyond to make lasting memories. She found great joy in serving for 22 years in the St. George temple.

She is survived by her son Cliven D. (Carol) Bundy of Riverside, NV; her daughters Kay (Bill) Sessions and Evon (Steve) Kelly both of Bunkerville, NV; Susan (Kim) Hardy of Mesquite, NV; Margaret (Gene) Houston of Logandale, NV; Lillie (Carl) Spencer of Alamo, NV; Chrisie Marshall of St. George, UT; and a grand total of 262 descendants.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bunkerville Chapel. A visitation will be held Saturday from 9:00-10:30 a.m.  Interment will follow in the Bunkerville Cemetery.
