Los Lupes has been the favorite restaurant of many of the Mesquite community members since Guadalupe and Marie Martinez first opened its doors on April 20, 1998. The restaurant currently located at 312 West Mesquite Blvd. has expanded locally in the same location since its opening. Recently the family opened a second location at 5255 South Decatur Blvd. in Las Vegas on Monday Dec. 21 and according to Mesquite Manager, Pepe Quirarte, business is good in their new location.

The Vegas restaurant has all the same favorites that the Mesquite location serves from their locally famous chips and salsa to the full service bar that will serve the best Margaritas in town. At least that’s what the locals have thought for the past ten years that they’ve voted Los Lupes the Best Mexican restaurant in Mesquite.

The Las Vegas location is family run, as is the Mesquite location, and family members have been commuting each and every day from one location to the other. The commute and the hours are long but Maria, who has been in the restaurant business for over 20 years, knows what it takes to become successful so she pushes on and continues to do what is necessary to make that happen.

Other members of the Mesquite staff are pitching in to staff the Las Vegas location; they have not yet hired any locals in the new restaurant. Quirarte says he isn’t sure of the plans for the future but at the present time everything is running smoothly with the commuting and the local staff members helping out when and where they can.
