Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats.

Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for Nov. 14-21, 2015.

Nov. 14:

Controlled Substance Problem: Officers arrested a male on N Sandhill Blvd who had probable cause for arrest for felony sales of controlled substance.

Nov. 15:

Traffic Accident w/ Injuries: Officers responded to a report of traffic accident involving two vehicles on N Sandhill Blvd. After conducting an accident investigation one driver was taken into custody for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Battery on Person: Officers responded to a Mesa Blvd casino reference an assault call.  Upon arrival Officers spoke with the parties involved.  One male subject was subsequently arrested for battery and obstructing.

Sexual Assault: An Officer responded to N Arrowhead Ln for a report of a sexual assault; a report was taken and detectives were called in.

Agency Assistance: An Officer responded to assist Mesquite Fire with an intoxicated female on E Pioneer Blvd.

Nov. 16:

Stolen Vehicle: An Officer responded to E Old Mill Rd for a report of a missing vehicle.  After an investigation, the vehicle was determined stolen.  A report was taken.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officers responded to take a report of a suspicious circumstance involving

someone’s child being struck while at a local day care center on Mountain View Dr.

Person On Foot: Officer observed a male jay walking on Pioneer Boulevard. Upon making contact with the male, he obstructed the officer’s investigation by providing false information. The male was arrested for Jaywalking and Obstructing.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officers responded to a N Grapevine Rd residence to take a report of property damage and harassment.

Nov. 17:

Trespassing IP: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino for a report of an intoxicated female subject refusing to leave. Female subject refused Officer’s orders to leave the property and was taken into custody for violation of trespass.

Theft: A report of a possible theft was taken.

Vandalism: An Officer took a report of vandalism from a property management company. Officer observed several areas that had been spray painted. A report was taken and the incident is under investigation.

Controlled Substance Problem: Police responded to a minor single vehicle accident at W Pioneer Blvd & Turtleback Rd. One adult female was arrested for driving under the influence and several drug related charges. The female was booked into the Mesquite Detention Center.

Welfare Check: Detectives received a call concerning children on Mesa Blvd who recently moved to Mesquite. A welfare check was completed and the children were found to be in good care and attending school.

Sex Offense: Officers contacted a female juvenile on Aztec Cir reference a property damage incident. While speaking with the juvenile it was learned the female may have been the victim of a sexual assault. Investigation into the sexual assault is ongoing.

Nov. 18:

Identification Check: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino for an identification verification. The

individual was under age and was cited for minor gambling.

Truancy: Officers responded to the High School for three students that have been truant.

Domestic Violence IP: Officers were dispatched to a domestic incident on Pulsipher Ln that involved a male who was damaging property. The male was transported by medical to the hospital due to self-inflicted injuries and a possible overdose on illegal drugs and prescription medication.  The male was cited and released for battery domestic violence and remained in the care of the hospital.

Nov. 19:

Trespassing IP: Officers were dispatched to a W Mesquite Blvd casino, reference a trespass violator. The officers arrived and the offender was arrested for trespassing.

Vandalism: A citizen reported graffiti at a Hillside Dr construction site. A report was taken.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Mesquite Officer responded to a W Mesquite Blvd parking lot reference a report of theft from a vehicle. Information gathered and the investigation is ongoing.

Welfare Check: The complainant requested the police for a welfare check on her daughter on Valley View Dr. The juvenile was contacted and advised she refused to go with the complainant (Mother).

Welfare Check: Officers responded to Mesa Blvd for a welfare check of a 4-week old child. The child was found in good health and cared for. A referral was made to the Division of Child Family Services for follow up investigation.

Theft: Officers responded to a W Pioneer Blvd business reference shoplifting. Upon arrival officers contacted two male subjects, one of which was arrested for petit larceny.

Nov. 20:

Theft: An officer was dispatched to a W Mesquite Blvd convenience store, in reference to a petit larceny.  An adult male subject was later arrested for petit larceny and obstructing a public officer.

Agency Assistance: Detectives assisted Utah LE on a pawn search using Leadsonline for a burglary case. Detective’s did not find anything on the search to assist in their investigation.

Trespassing IP: Mesquite Police Officer responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino reference a trespass violation. The male adult was identified and arrested for trespassing.

Vandalism: Officers responded to a Sage Way residence reference a report of vandalism that occurred to a vehicle. Information was gathered and a report was completed.

Fraud: Report taken per the request of the Grayce Dr victim for fraud. Its reported money has been taken from the victim’s bank by and unknown person.

Lost Property: A citizen wanted to report a possible lost/stolen/missing firearm. A report was filed.

Vandalism: Graffiti was located on a Riverside Rd & Joshua Ridge Dr neighborhood wall. A report was taken.

Trespassing: Officers responded to a E Pioneer Blvd casino and arrested a male for trespassing.

Nov. 21:

Trespassing IP: Officers responded to a male refusing to leave an E Pioneer Blvd business. The male was arrested for trespassing and for three active arrest warrants.

Suspicious/Pers: Officer took a male subject on Pulsipher Ln into civil protective custody for his protection.

Civil Dispute: Officers responded on a non-violent family fight on E Pioneer Blvd. Parties were separated and they left the hotel property.

Vandalism: Mesquite Officer responded to an Osprey St neighborhood reference a report of vandalism. Officer gathered information and evidence. The investigation is ongoing.

Domestic Violence IP: Officers responded to a fight in progress at an E Pioneer Blvd hotel. After interviewing several witnesses, officers determined the involved parties were boyfriend and girlfriend and a battery had occurred. The male half of the incident was arrested for battery domestic violence.

Disorderly Conduct IP: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino and arrested a disorderly male for breach of peace and obstructing a public officer.
