Nevada State Elks President, Kenneth Catlin, visited the Mesquite Elks Lodge #2811 on Saturday, Nov. 7 and joined Lodge members in the Veteran’s Parade.

During the Veterans Parade, Elks President Catlin rode in Rick McDonald’s three-wheeled motorcycle, Polaris Slingshot. McDonald is the Mesquite Elks Exalted Ruler. First Lady, Sue Catlin, rode with Janet McDonald in a separate vehicle.

At the Soccer Shoot held in the afternoon, they all watched with enthusiasm as the youth of Mesquite demonstrated their soccer skills. The Elks Lodge Annual President’s Dinner honoring the Elks State President and First Lady was held later that evening at the Elks Lodge.

During his term as the State President, Catlin visits all of the Elks Lodges in Nevada. He particularly enjoyed Mesquite because as a veteran himself, it was an honor to participate in the Veterans Parade with McDonald who is also a veteran. He was also proud of the Mesquite Elks Lodge for the enthusiasm and spirit of volunteerism he saw displayed at the Soccer Shoot. The members who put on the event for the youth of the community clearly embraced the motto of “Elks Care – Elks Share.”
