LostCity-11-26-15Holiday shopping with Nevada culture in mind happens from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5 at the Lost City Museum’s holiday open house in Overton. The museum will host a holiday open house sponsored by the museum’s docent council. The free event will feature live entertainment provided by local musicians and light refreshments will be served.

The annual raffle at 2 p.m. will include gift baskets and items donated by local businesses and supporters. Raffle tickets will be sold six for $5 or $1 each by docents and at the museum until drawing time. Winners need not be present.

During the event, the museum store will be open and stocked with a variety of unique items including Native American jewelry, crafts, books and more.

The Lost City Museum actively engages people in understanding and celebrating Nevada’s natural and cultural heritage. One of seven managed by the Nevada Division of Museums and History, an agency of the Nevada Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, it is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Regular admission is $5, children age 17 and younger and members enter free. The museum is at 721 S. Moapa Valley Blvd. in Overton. Take Interstate 15 to exit 93. Access is also available from Lake Mead National Recreation Area or the Valley of Fire State Park.
