Oct 1867: Brigham Young extends the call to 158 men to settle the Muddy Mission.

Oct 1877: Construction of Grist Mill and Cotton Gin begins.The mill was built in Bunkerville.

Oct. 1918: School closed due to flu epidemic.

Oct. 8, 1948: Jack W. Leavitt Airport dedicated. First airport in Mesquite. Jack was a WWII war hero who passed away March 28, 1945. The airport was located over by the high school.
