Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats.
This week, there were 191 total incidents in the blotter:

Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for Sept. 27-Oct. 3, 2015.

Sept. 27:

Civil Dispute: Officers responded to a verbal argument on N Grapevine Rd.

Noise Disturbance: Officer’s responded to a Pulsipher Ln apartment complex for a noise complaint. A male party was issued a warning concerning an ongoing noise problem.

Theft: Officers responded to a W Pioneer Blvd store for a report of a theft. Officer took the report and investigation is ongoing.

Sept. 28:

Search Warrant: The Mesquite Police Department executed knock and announce search warrants on Turtleback Road, Riverside Road and Leavitt Lane in Mesquite.

Phone Harassment: An Officer took a report of telephone harassment. The harassment is related to a civil issue and was report as a matter of record.

Civil Matter: An officer responded to the police department lobby in reference to a civil matter.

Reckless Driver: Officer responded to a report of a vehicle driving recklessly on the interstate. Upon investigation the driver was intoxicated and arrested for an active warrant, DUI, and multiple traffic offenses.

Sept. 29:

Agency Assistance: Officers responded to a N Grapevine Rd residence for an argument.

Truancy: Officers respond to the high school for a truancy.

Theft: An Officer responded to a Crest View Dr residence for a report of a theft of a ring. Information was taken and the theft is being investigated.

Burglary: An Officer responded to a report of a burglary of a new construction home on Sanctuary Ridge. A report was taken and the home was processed for evidence. Investigation is ongoing.

Lost Property: An Officer responded to assist a citizen who lost his wallet while traveling to Mesquite.  A report was taken.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Police responded to a suspicious and fraudulent incident at a Rolling Hills Dr residence. A report was taken.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to a two vehicle accident with negative injuries at W Hafen Ln & Riverside Rd.

Trespassing IP: Officers responded to a W Mesquite Blvd casino reference a trespass violator. Officers cited and released the male for trespass.

Trespassing: Officers responded to a W Mesquite Blvd casino reference a trespass violator. Officers cited and released the female for trespass.

Sept. 30:

Vandalism: Officer responded to property damage at Hafen Park.

Wanted Person: A male subject was located at a Mesa Blvd casino, who has an active warrant for his arrest. The warrant was confirmed and the subject was taken into custody without incident.

Welfare Check: Officers conducted a welfare check on a citizen walking along the roadway on Riverside Rd.

Verbal Dispute IP: Officer responded to a juvenile problem at an Adobe Dr residence. One juvenile female was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Oct. 1:

Wanted Person: Officers arrested a male at W Pioneer Blvd & Oasis Blvd who had a warrant out of Mesquite Municipal Court, ITS drugs, and drug paraphernalia.

Found Property: Municipal court reported found property. Property placed into safe keeping.

Truancy: Officers responded to the high school for a report of a truant student.

Wanted Person: A wanted subject arrived at the detention center and turned herself in. Subject

was placed into custody and booked into the detention center.

Found Property: Mesquite Officer responded to a local business reference found property. The owner of the property was not located and the property was placed into safe keeping.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: An officer observed possible illegal drug activity in a city park on Second South St. The officer contacted two adult males and determined no drug activity had occurred.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officers observed several people on E Pioneer Blvd involved in a verbal argument. The people involved confirmed the argument was verbal only, and they left the area without incident.

Controlled Substance Problem: An officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic offense at W Pioneer Blvd & Falcon Ridge Pkwy.  The driver and a passenger were later cited and released for possession of marijuana under one ounce, possession of drug paraphernalia, and traffic offenses.

Oct. 2:

Battery on Person: Officers respond to a Sagedell Rd residence reference a physical fight between two males.  An adult male subject was later taken into custody for battery.

Identification Check: An officer was dispatched to an E Pioneer Blvd casino, in reference to an ID check.  An

adult male subject was later cited and released for minor gambling.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers were dispatched to a non-injury accident on Hillside Dr. An accident report was completed and a driver was cited for the cause of the accident.

Domestic Violence IP: Police responded to a Cottonwood Dr residence reference a report of domestic violence. After a brief investigation, officers determined the male and female subjects were mutual combatants. Both subjects were arrested for domestic battery, and an arrest report was completed.

Fraud: An officer was dispatched to a W Pioneer Blvd address, in reference to a fraud call.

Verbal Dispute IP: Officers responded to a Second South St residence for a report of a verbal dispute. All parties were separated for the night.

Oct. 3:

Reckless Driver: An officer was dispatched to an E Pioneer Blvd address, in reference to a suspected drunk driver.  The described vehicle was located and was stopped after a traffic offense.  The driver of this vehicle was arrested for DUI – Alcohol (1st offense) and driving with a suspended driver’s license.

Driving Under the Influence: Officers responded to a non-injury single vehicle accident on Old Mill Road. The driver and only occupant was arrested for DUI.

Civil Dispute: An Officer responded to an Emily Way residence for a keep the peace, on a verbal dispute. The male and female were separated for a cooling off period.

Person On Foot: An officer made contact with an adult male on N Sandhill Blvd, he was later arrested for breach of peace.

Controlled Substance Problem: An officer stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation on I15 NB.  Through a k9 drug sniff, the passenger was found to be in possession of illegal controlled substances and multiple items of drug paraphernalia.  The passenger was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drugs which may not be introduced into interstate commerce, and three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.

False Identification: An officer stopped a vehicle for a moving violation on I15 SB.  The driver was found to be in possession of false identification and was attempting to hide his identity. The driver was arrested and charged with possession of false identification and unlicensed driver.

Theft: Police responded to a report of a theft at a Falcon Ridge Pkwy gas station.
