The Virgin Valley High School soccer gals tuned up for their big game Mon. Nov. in the 1-A Southern Division playoffs by routing the Boulder City High School Eagles 7-0 at the Mesquite Sports and Events Center. The Lady Dawgs scored early on an unassisted goal by Jazmyn Dominguez. The game was tightly played until the seconds remained in the first half when Chantel Golindo hit Marlene Quiarte on a crossover for goal giving the Dawgs a 2-0 lead at the break.

Coach Bob Snell’s pep talk to his young Bulldogs during the break seemed to motivate his troops as star forward broke free three consecutive times within five minutes of play to hit the ‘hat trick’ (3 goals) giving the Dawgs a 5-0 advantage 8 minutes into the second half of play. Minutes later Quiarte hit an unassisted goal for a 6-0 advantage. Freshman Karla Correa struck the last goal of the regular season on a sweet pass from Kallie Graves for the final 7-0 win for the Dawgs. Spencer Green had her 14th shutout of the season. “Defense was rock solid again,” said Coach Snell after the win.
