Bulldog soccer guys lose to Roadrunners and Dragons

The Virgin Valley High School boy soccer team played well Thursday Oct.22, but fell to a good Del Sol High School team 2-0. It was a story about the end of two halves as the Dragons struck goal at the 29 minute mark and the 78 minute mark of the game. The Dawgs had great opportunities to score put could not put the final pass into the goal. Dragons Diego Nieves and Ruben Ortiz had a goal apiece. The Dawgs were outshot 14-8 by the Dragons. Bulldog Roman Perez had eight saves for the Dawgs, keeping the score close. The Bulldogs record fell to 2-8-2 in league play.The Bulldogs host Moapa Valley High School on Monday Oct.26 in their next match. The archrivals will be playing for the Rivals Cup to determine the best team in the Valley’s. A BBQ will be held during the event.

The Bulldogs were shut out by TECH Tuesday Oct. 20 in Las Vegas. The Roadrunners dominated a short-handed Bulldog squad blowing them out 6-0 in Las Vegas.

Bulldog soccer gals blow out Dragons 9-0

The VVHS Lady Dawg soccer team continued to hold down the top spot in 1-A sunrise Conference play with a resounding 9-0 blowout of host Del Sol Wednesday Oct. 20. Bulldog Abbie Barnum had the hat trick, three goals, followed by Madison Cheney, Marlene Quiarte, Kallie Graves, Dalylah Chavez, Ally Leal and Jazmyn Dominguez added one goal apiece. ‘One down and two to go,” said Bulldog Coach Bob Snell. The Dawgs need at least one win in their remaining two games to clinch first place in the 1-A Sunrise conference. The Lady Dawgs travel to Moapa Valley to play the Pirates who need a win to make the playoffs.
