JOE SMITH SCORES WELL IN MMGA DEBUT

Joe Smith, recent transfer from California and playing in his first event with the MMGA faired quite well as he won medalist honors on his first day.  He played the Canyons and shot 39-40-79 to lead all players.  Great start Joe and welcome to our group.  Three players were just one shot back.  Pat Smitty playing with Smith had the best nine holes with a 38 on the front and 42 on the back.  Bill Irace and Dave Jordan both had identical rounds of 39-41.  It was a poker straight hand that won all the low net awards. Dan Trower, from the forward tees, earned first place low net with a great round of 83 for net 66.  Second went to Smitty with a net 67.  Third was Bill Irace at 68 which would mean that the net 69 was next and that was won by Delbert Moore (84) and net 69. Ed Hoepfner finished the straight with a gross 82 and net 70.  Welcome back “snow ballers” Glade Flanigan and Roger Mueller.

The next scheduled play is Tuesday, October 20th at 8:00 at Falcon Ridge and Thursday Oct 22nd at the Palms at 8:00. Always check your sig up sheets for any corrected times or places.  Anyone interested in joining the MMGA can call 346-6363.  Also check out our website at www.mesquitemensgolf.com.
