“Defense saved the day again,” said Bulldog Coach Bob Snell after his Lady Bulldog soccer team defeated the Cowboys from Chaparral High School 3-0.
The win moved the Dawgs into first place as powerhouse TECH tied at Desert Pines giving the Dawgs a two point lead. Abbie Barnum led the Dawgs once again with two goals followed by Chantel Galindo with one. Marlene Quiarte made two great assists and forward Karla Correa had one goal.
Spencer Green registered her tenth shutout of the season. All the Bulldog goals came in the second period. “Unacceptable,” added Coach Snell. “We out shot them 25-0 in the first half and came away with a tie at 0-0. We outshot them 42-7 and scored three goals. Very concerned we can’t finish on offense.”
The Dawgs travel to Desert Pines Friday, October 16 and host TECH Tuesday, October 20 in critical league games.
