Dames resume luncheons

The Desert Dames are up and running again after a two-month break in July and August.  Hopefully most of the snowbirds have arrived or will be coming back soon.  The monthly luncheon for September was held on the 30th at the Oasis Golf Club Grille Room.  Members enjoyed a bountiful salad bar made up of fresh fruits and vegetables and a chocolate brownie for dessert.  Prior to lunch, musical entertainment was provided by Dan Kizerian.  Dan performed at our annual picnic back in May and his rendition of folk and blues songs continues to be a hit with the Dames.

Looking forward to upcoming events, the Desert Dames luncheon in October will be our annual Halloween party.  Members are encouraged to wear a costume and compete for the first, second, or third prize.  We have a very creative group and they continue to come up with some original costumes.  Mark your calendar for October 28th.  The November luncheon includes the annual Desert Dames Fashion Show.  The event will be held in the Casa Blanca Ballrooms at 12:00 p.m. on November 18, 2015.  This is our one luncheon that is open to the public and it allows us to promote businesses within our great city of Mesquite.  Please plan on joining us and see the new fall line of clothing from golf attire to casual wear.

The Desert Dames promote friendship through meetings, social functions and special interest groups.  Anyone 21 years or older that live in Mesquite or our surrounding areas can join.  For more information call our Membership Chair Debbie Oskin at (702) 346-0811.
