The Chaparral High School soccer team used a strong first half offensive display to defeat the Bulldogs Wednesday afternoon at the Mesquite Sports and Events Center soccer fields. The Cowboys dominated the first half as they controlled the ball with pin point passing, turning them into three first half goals. The Cowboys outshot the Dawgs 9-3 in the first half of play. The Cowboys scored quickly four minutes into the match and added two goals at the 27 minute and 35 minute mark for the 3-0 lead. Striking goal in the first half for the Cowboys were Jose Morales with two goals and Omar Miranda with one goal.

The second half of play was much more competitive as the Dawgs came out with a lot of enthusiasm and desire. The Bulldog defense shut down the first place Cowboys, making Bulldog goalkeeper Roman Perez a lot easier. Bulldog forward Moise Medina led the Dawgs resurgence on both sides of the field. Medina took a sweet pass from David Cabrera and blew it pass the Cowboy goalie for a score cutting the Chaparral lead to 3-1. The teams battled evenly for the rest of the match with neither team scoring goal. The Bulldogs record fell to 2-6-1 in league play while the Cowboys went to 8-0-1. The Dawgs travel to Desert Pines this Friday before hosting TECH on Tuesday October 20.

The Virgin Valley High School Bulldog soccer team was no match for Sunrise High School Miners Monday afternoon in Las Vegas as the Miners shut out the Dawgs 6-0.
