Bring the kids on Saturday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to the Virgin Valley Heritage Museum for some Trick-or-Treat fun. Come in costume and for a friendly trick (song, poem or story about your grandparents) receive a treat.
After visiting the museum, you can stay in costume and get ready for the Monster Mash and Trunk-or-Treat with the Mesquite Police Department and other community businesses. The fun evening will be held at the CasaBlanca parking garage on West Mesquite Boulevard from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
“We invite all member of our community to join the fun and make this a night to remember,” said Police Lieutenant MaQuade Chesley.
This is the last weekend for the Virgin Valley Theatre Group’s season opener “Angel Street.” You don’t want to miss this Victorian Thriller, its excellent cast, wonderful set or beautiful costumes.

The Brown Bag Lecture at the Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery on Nov. 3 will be presented by Shirley Riley of St. George, Utah. She titles her presentation, “Expressions through Poetry,” telling about her writing and her experiences.
This free, one-hour presentation begins promptly at noon. The public is cordially invited to hear Mrs. Riley and her gentle, inspiring poetry. Her appearance is sponsored by the Virgin Valley Artists Association.
Virgin Valley Democrats welcome Congressional District 4 candidate, Ruben Kihuen to their monthly membership meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at Highland Estates Hotel. Sign in begins at 5:30 p.m. Democrats from the Virgin Valley and the Moapa Valley are invited to attend.
The Virgin Valley Theatre Group is holding dual auditions for “Agnes of God” and “The Marvelous Wonderettes” on Nov. 2 and 3 between 6-8 p.m. at the Mesquite Community Theatre.
Between the two shows there are seven female roles. Three women are needed for “Agnes of God,” two mature females (non-singing parts) and one young female that has to “sing like an angel.” “The Marvelous Wonderettes” is a musical which requires four females.
The actors will be reading cuttings from the Agnes script. Singers should be prepared to sing a song of their choice A cappella. Wear loose clothing and comfortable shoes. Some choreography will be worked.
