The Southern Nevada Symphony Orchestra announces their second concert season concert dates for November 14, February 20 and April 23.  This year’s concerts will be held at the Casablanca Showroom, which seats 500 guests.  All concerts will begin at 7 p.m.  Special guest soloists will be featured during each of concert.  For the first concert of the season, on November 14, Dr. Selmer Spitzer, musical director and conductor, has programmed the “William Tell Overture” by Rossini (also known as the Lone Ranger Theme).  Other well known arrangements programmed are Jean Sibelias’ “Fourth Movement of the Second Symphony,” Peter Tchaikovsky’s “Romeo and Juliet Overture,” Verdi’s “Anvil Chorus,” and Mozart’s “Amadeus from the Symphony No. 25.”  The concert will be closing with music written by John Williams and John Ottman “Superman Returns.”

“To watch our audiences grow with full houses at each concert is really exciting,” said Spitzer.  “I think for a town this size to have an orchestra of this quality is unique.  In this day and age when many orchestras struggle financially and even have to close their doors; to have the Southern Nevada Symphony Orchestra to produce concerts is really something special.”
