Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats.

Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for Sept. 6-12, 2015.

Sept. 6:

Vandalism: Police responded to a theft from a vending machine on Sunvalley Dr. A report was taken for the crime.

Sept. 7:

Sexual Assault: Officer responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino reference a sexual assault call.  The investigation into the sexual assault continues.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle at Smith’s.  The vehicle was not located, nor did any witnesses see the vehicle.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Letter left on Mesquite PD patrol vehicle on Palos Verdes Dr by unknown person. Later was collected and will be sent to lab for analysis.

Sept. 8:

Agency Assistance: An officer responded to a Silver Rd residence to assist paramedics with an attempted suicide.  The patient did not want to go with paramedics, a legal 2000 was completed and the patient was taken to the hospital.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officers responded to a Pinnacle Ct residence for a report of a burglary. After interviewing the reporting party it was determined a burglary had not occurred.

Battery on Person: Officers responded to a N Sandhill Blvd restaurant reference a fight.  After an investigation, a male adult was charged with battery and disturbing the peace.

Wanted Person: Officers responded to a local hospital reference a wanted male subject. Officers located, identified, and arrested the male subject on two active bench warrants.

Background Investigation: Background check on one white male adult requesting to start religious meetings at the Mesquite Detention Center.

Traffic Accident w/ Injuries: Officers were dispatched to a report of traffic accident involving a pedestrian on N Sandhill Blvd. After an investigation the driver of the vehicle was taken into custody for driving under the influence of alcohol and other traffic violations.

Suspicious/Pers: Officers responded to a Nolina Wy residence reference an unidentified male subject that urinated on the wall of the residence.

Sept. 9:

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers were dispatched to an E Pioneer Blvd parking lot for a report of a minor accident. No injuries were reported and the accident investigation and report completed.

Lost Property: Officers responded to a Cherokee St residence reference a report of lost property. The lost property was recorded and an officer’s report was completed.

Sept. 10:

Domestic Violence IP: Officers were dispatched to a local residence, in reference to a domestic battery.  An adult male subject was later arrested for domestic battery (1st offense).

Lost Property: Officers responded to a N Sandhill Blvd business reference a report of lost property. The complainant lost some property on the freeway and believed he later saw another person with his property. The officer gathered information about the person with the property and an officer’s report was completed.

Suicidal Person: Officer’s responded to a Mimosa Wy residence reference a citizen assist. Officers offered the assistance requested.

Burglary IP: Officers responded to an alleged burglary in progress on Sunvalley Dr. On arrival no one was on scene. No property was damaged and the residence was not burglarized.

Minor Gambling: Officers responded to a E Pioneer Blvd casino reference minor gambling. An Adult male was cited for minor gambling and released with a citation.

Wanted Person: One Hispanic male adult arrested on Hillside Dr. for two Mesquite Municipal Court warrants at the Justice Facility in Mesquite, NV.

Wanted Person: Officers arrested a male on Mesa Blvd who had a warrant out of Mesquite Municipal Court.

Sept. 11:

Wanted Person: Officers contacted an adult female on Concord Dr with and active felony arrest warrant in the Mesquite Justice Court. The female was arrested on the warrant and an arrest report was completed.

Theft: Officers responded to a W Pioneer Blvd supermarket, in reference to a theft.

Domestic Violence IP: Officers responded to a Hillside Dr residence on a report of a verbal argument. During the investigation, it was determined an adult male had committed domestic battery on an adult female. The male was arrested and booked without incident.

Sept. 12:

Vandalism: An officer responded to a W Mesquite Blvd business reference property damage. Surveillance was provided and officers are conducting an investigation.

Burglary: Report was taken for an unoccupied residence of cabinets stolen on Serenity Ridge. The structure is still under construction.

Suspicious/Pers: Officers received several calls on an intoxicated adult female on N Sandhill Blvd. Female has no where to go. Female was taken into civil protective custody for her safety.

Civil Matter: An officer was dispatched to a Verllonia St residence in reference to a missing person report.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to a report of a traffic accident on Mesa Verde Run. One adult male was arrested for DUI and other offenses related to the investigation.

Burglary: Officer responded to the maintenance area of a local Golf course, reference a report of burglary of maintenance tools and equipment from several storage containers. The theft is under investigation.
