Streets of Mesquite Sept. 13-19, 2015

Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats.
This week, there were 201 total incidents in the blotter:

Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for Sept. 13-19, 2015.

Sept. 13:

Theft: An Officer responded to a Mesa Blvd casino reference a theft of a wallet. A report was taken.

Domestic Trouble: An Officer responded to the hospital for a report of a domestic situation. After speaking with all involved parties an arrest was made on one of the involved for domestic battery.

Sept. 14:

Theft: An Officer took a report concerning the theft of signs, giving directions to a Hardy Way church. A theft report was completed and is being investigated.

Wanted Person: Officers made contact with an adult male on W Pioneer Blvd with a bench warrant out of Mesquite Municipal Court; the male was arrested.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Police responded to a non-injury traffic accident on W Mesquite Blvd. A report was taken.

Theft: Officer stopped a suspicious male pushing a shopping cart East on Pioneer Boulevard. Officer found that the items had been stolen from a Department store. Subject was placed under arrest.

Sept. 15:

Traffic accident W/O injury: An officer responded to a Hawk St residence for damage to a parked vehicle.

Citizen Assist: An officer responded to the police department and spoke with a male subject who had questions and concerns about family members who live in his home.

Wanted Person: Officer made contact with an adult female with an active Mesquite Municipal Court Warrant. The female was arrested and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center without incident.

Truancy: Officer responded to a VVHS for a report of a habitual truancy.

Citizen Assist: Officers responded to a Beacon Ridge Wy residence in reference to a civil matter between a caretaker and representatives of the estate.

Found Property: An officer responded to the library on W First North St for a found bicycle.  A silver BMX style bicycle was booked into safekeeping.

Animal complaint: Officers responded to a Sagedell Rd residence for a citizen who reported being bitten by a dog on the previous day. The resident advised the dog belonged to his roommate. Report was taken and the investigation is ongoing.

Runaway Juvenile: A female juvenile ran away from home was later located and returned to her home after being cited for curfew violation.

Petit Larceny: An officer in plain clothes observed two subjects conceal a W Pioneer Blvd store merchandise inside a purse. The subjects failed to pay for the items when they left the store. They were both issued a citation, at the store’s supervisor’s request, for possession of stolen property.

Sept. 16:

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officer took a report of injuring/tampering of a motor vehicle on W First North St.

Battery on Person: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino reference battery and the investigation is ongoing.

Sept. 17:

Intoxicated Person: Officers responded to E Old Mill Rd reference a suspicious adult male. The male was arrested for intoxicated pedestrian in a roadway, and an arrest report was completed.

Lost Property: Officer responded to a report for a stolen license plate.

Vandalism: Officers were dispatched to a Tuscany Cir residence in reference a vandalism call. After an investigation, this incident was determined to be a civil matter.

Sept. 18:

Citizen Assist: Mesquite Officers responded to a local business reference a citizen assist.

Found Property: Officers responded to a Sandbar St residence reference found property. The homeowner requested to surrender a firearm that belonged to a deceased family member. The firearm was booked into evidence for safe keeping.

Juvenile Problem: An officer took a report of thrown rocks in the parking lot of a W Mesquite Blvd apartment complex. No damage was reported from the thrown rocks.

Fraud: Complainant requested an event number per his attorney for alleged fraud. The complainant was provided the office’s business card with the event number, and an officer’s report was completed.

Domestic Violence IP: Officers were dispatched to a Shade Tree Ln address, in reference to a domestic battery.  After an investigation, it was determined to be a verbal argument.

Controlled Substance Problem: Officers conducted a traffic stop on Hillside Dr on a vehicle for speeding. Officers later cited the driver for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Domestic Violence IP: Officers were dispatched to a Mesa Blvd address, in reference to a possible domestic battery.  After an investigation, officers cited and released a male for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sept. 19:

Dead Body: An Officer responded to a Hardy Way residence to assist Mesquite Fire & Rescue with a medical call. A male was found to be deceased due to health reasons.

Theft from Vehicle: Officer responded to a W Pioneer Blvd hotel for a report of the theft of items from a vehicle parked in the parking lot. A report was taken and the theft is being investigated.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officers responded to a N Sandhill Blvd gas station in reference to a male and female having an argument.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: An officer responded to a two vehicle traffic accident with no injuries on I-15 SB. An exchange of information and accident report was completed, with one citation issued.

Suspicious/Person: A report was taken in reference to a suspicious male who was following a female in a local store.

Wanted Person: Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on W Old Mill Rd for an equipment violation. An adult male passenger had warrants out of several courts in Clark County. The male passenger was arrested on the warrants, and an arrest report was completed.
