The Mesquite-Toes Tap Team kicks off their fall season with a trip to Las Vegas on Sunday, Sep. 27 to compete in the Nevada Senior Games. There are 24 dancers who will be competing. Nine numbers have been entered in various categories including tap team, clog team, duet, solo and ballroom competitions.

The senior dancers are the official “Goodwill Ambassadors for the Magic of Mesquite” and hope to bring home the “gold”, putting the spotlight on the city once again.

As soon as they return, the Mesquite-Toes will be hosting their annual Open House on Wednesday, Sep. 30, from 10 am to 2pm, at their studio at 150 N Yucca St. All members of the community, and especially any potential new senior dancers ages 50+, both men and women, are invited to attend. Free classes in Jazz, Tap, Clogging, and Musical Theater dance will be offered every 20 minutes throughout the event. This gives potential dancers an opportunity to try out different types of dance.

Come dressed in comfortable clothing and be prepared for a fun experience. Light refreshments will also be served. Beginner classes will start on Oct. 5 and this is also an opportunity to ask questions about the new classes. All dancers are welcome and no experience is necessary.
