Each year the NHA recognizes hospital volunteers who exhibit outstanding qualities and service to patients, staff and the community in hospitals throughout the state of Nevada.

“Sondra has been a volunteer at Mesa View Regional Hospital for more than 10 years.  She has worked at the front information desk the majority of this time, and is the face of the hospital to all that enter,” said Patty Holden, CEO for Mesa View. “At a time of confusion, fear, anxiety over a loved one or the expectancy of a birth, Sondra is there with a calm voice, a gentle smile and provides the support and information with compassion,” Holden continued.

“Sondra is the ‘go-to’ trainer and orients other volunteers – she is a role model for other volunteers,” say her associates. “The front desk is a very busy and hectic place but you’ll never see Sondra stressed and she always has a smile.  She has a wonderful sense of humor and can make anyone else smile too. Many patients know her by name,” they continued.

“Mesa View is fortunate to have Sondra on the volunteer team, and I cannot say enough good things about this lovely person,” concluded Patty Holden, CEO.  “She truly deserves this recognition.”
