The Virgin Valley High School lady volleyball team won two of three matches over the past weekend at the Boulder City Invitational. The Dawgs dropped their first match 2-0 (25-19) (25-19) to the Panthers from little Pahranaghat Valley High School on Friday afternoon, Sep. 25. The Bulldogs won their second game of the tourney Friday 2-1 over Liberty High School (17-25) (25-21) and (18-16). It was a great effort for the Dawgs after losing the first set.

The Bulldogs easily defeated Basic High School (25-21) and (25-16) to move on in the tournament. The Bulldogs faced nemesis Boulder City to open Saturday morning play. The Dawgs lost the first set 25-20 before blowing the Eagles out in the second set 25-10. The Dawgs could not keep the momentum going as they fell to the Eagles 15-7 in the third and deciding set. The loss moved the Dawgs into lower bracket play.

The Dawgs faced Valley High School in their last match of the day losing 2-0 by scores of (25-14) and (25-22). The tournament was a great warm up for tonight’s matchup with the Eagles in Boulder City. The team’s currently on top of 1-A Sunrise League play with 3-0 records.
