A “Stay Smart with Art” program for adults begins Oct. 3 at the Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery. This program will offer classes in Oil and Acrylic Painting, Watercolors, Pastels, Colored Pencil, Print Making, Pencil Drawing and 3D art.  For more information on this free adult program contact Diana Coonradt at 702-346-2204 or contact the gallery.

Most classes offered by the VVAA are geared toward the adult crowd and up until this year were held only during daytime hours as were the monthly member meetings. “Our class and meeting times were limiting for members who wanted to attend but had other commitments,” said Jean Wiensch, President of the Virgin Valley Artists Association (VVAA).

The VVAA and Wiensch are proud to announce that the VVAA is reaching out to accommodate those who cannot attend the daytime classes or meetings. In October they will be hosting an evening VVAA general meeting and two evening art classes. If attendance warrants it, they will continue to accommodate those members in the future.

Wiensch says, “All members are special and they all deserve a chance to be involved with the decisions and have the knowledge and the input our other members have.  Because they have prior commitments or have to work during the day doesn’t mean they don’t count as members.  We needed to accommodate all of our wonderful supporters so the night classes and meetings will, hopefully, accomplish that goal.”

Beginning Tuesday, Oct. 6 Bunny Wiseman will be teaching a beginner’s drawing class from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and Gail Smith will teach a beginner’s oil/acrylic painting on Wednesdays from 6-9 p.m.
