Valley Quilts on display at Museum

As part of this month’s exhibit, The Virgin Valley Heritage Museum display case will be featuring a variety of quilts. The quilts demonstrate a set of skills possessed by the early settlers who utilized all they had and wasted nothing.  The craftsmanship of quilts show the time, talent, effort and patience of those who shared this extraordinary skill of making something out of practically nothing.  While quilting is consider a hobby by many today, for the early settlers it was a necessity of life.

The “Handiwork in the Valley” display will remain up for a little bit longer, if you have not had the opportunity to drop by and see the homemade clothing and hand work of the early settlers.
