Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats.

Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for Aug. 2 – 8, 2015.
August 2:
Theft: Officer took a telephone call concerning missing medications and money. Reporting person is out of town and will contact police on his return.
Lost Property: Officers were informed to contact a female who left her purse at a N Sandhill Blvd restaurant. Officers attempted to locate the purse but were unsuccessful.
Traffic Stop: Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding on W Mesquite Blvd. The driver of the vehicle had a warrant for his arrest out of Mesquite Municipal Court. The driver was arrested for the warrant and issued a citation for speeding.
August 3:
Theft from Vehicle: An officer received a report of a theft from a vehicle over the telephone.
Citizen Assist: An officer responded to the lobby for a complaint about the school bus stop children in May 2015.
Vandalism: An Officer responded to a vandalized vehicle in a Riverside Rd apartment complex. A report was taken.
Trespassing IP: Officers responded to a Mesa Blvd casino for a trespass violator. The male subject was arrested for trespassing.
August 4:
Suicidal Person: Officers responded to a E Pioneer Blvd hotel for an attempted suicide. A male was found with a self inflicted gunshot wound. The male was transported by ambulance to the hospital.
Fraud: An officer received a report of credit fraud.
August 5:
Burglary IP W/ Gun: Report was taken for residential burglary on Falcon Glenn Dr.
Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Report taken of suspicious situation on Hillside Dr.
August 6:
Minor Gambling: An officer responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino for a report of an underage gambler. An adult male under the age of 21 was issued a citation for minor gambling and released with a court date.
August 7:
Theft: Female on W Pioneer Blvd reported to have money taken from her account by a live in care taker.
Controlled Substance Problem: Officers were dispatched to a N Sandhill Blvd service station regarding two persons in a heated argument at the gas pumps. Officers arrived and determined the argument was over illegal drugs. Officers located illegal drugs and charged a female with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and operating a vehicle with no insurance.
Lost Property: An officer was dispatched to a N Sandhill Blvd store, in reference to a lost property report.
Driving Under the Influence: Officers were dispatched to the intersection of E Mesquite Blvd & N Sandhill Blvd, reference vehicle accident with injuries. A male subject was cited for DUI first, and released due to injuries sustained in the accident.
Traffic Accident w/ Injuries: Officer responded to a traffic accident with possible injuries at N Sandhill Blvd & E Old Mill Rd. One adult male was cited for traffic related offenses.
August 8:
Traffic Violation: Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was backing down a freeway onramp at exit 120. The driver was issued several citations.
Trespassing IP: Officers responded to a Mesa Blvd casino for a trespass violator. A female subject was issued a citation for trespassing and transported to the hospital at her request.
