Richard Scully, CEO of Chamber Nation, addresses the Mesquite Chamber of Commerce at its monthly luncheon Aug. 12.

Richard Scully, CEO of Chamber Nation, presented an update on the progress of the Mesquite Chamber of Commerce Website processes available to all chamber members at the monthly luncheon on Wednesday, Aug. 12.

A year ago, the chamber contracted with Chamber Nation to provide members an easy way to create and update Web sites and pages for their business. Most importantly, the service is free to chamber members.

Scully remarked that only about 25 percent of members had chosen to use the service. Even with that, the service has logged 19,455 hits on the members’ directory and from search engines when it began in December to a high of 71,000 hits in May.

“That shows there is a direct correlation between the optimization levels of the member businesses and the success of the network,” Scully said. “Those numbers will become far, far greater as soon as more members are optimized.”

He went on to explain how chamber members can join the service, create more exposure to their business and increase the number of people who are aware of businesses and services in Mesquite.
